Voices of the West 2020 Speech Competition

Voices of the West 2020 is an oratorical competition organised by Methodist Girls’ School (MGS) in collaboration with Ministry of Education (MOE) Gifted Education Branch. It is an online competition which strives to encourage a passion of public speaking among students in Singapore. Participants attended Zoom mentoring sessions by MGS and submitted a recorded video of their speeches entitled,” A Different Way of schooling after Covid-19”.

On 27 August 2020, their videos were screened in front of a panel of distinguished judges and a live Zoom audience. Both finalists presented enthusiastic yet dynamic speeches on how their schooling experiences differed after Covid-19, which wowed the judges.
