String Ensemble
CCA Information: Frontier Primary String Ensemble (FPSE) is established in 2014. It caters to the needs of pupils with a love for music and plays a complementary role in enriching the school’s music programmes. It is also the school’s representative group that performs at different platforms. It introduces pupils to the fundamentals of music theory and technical aspects of the instruments in the string family----violin, viola, cello or double bass. The ensemble, under the baton and leadership of our main instructor Mr Alex Liu, a violinist from the Singapore Symphony Orchestra has grown from strength to strength over the past year. Pupils who demonstrate keen interest and great potential would be shortlisted to participate in the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) Arts Presentation.

Members interested to play the violin will need to purchase their own musical instrument.

Cellist and double bass players will be allowed to loan the instruments from school.

Musical stands and performance costumes will be provided at no cost, and to be returned after use.

For Whom: All pupils, preferably those who have attended our Violin
