Voices of the West 2020 Speech Competition |

Voices of the West 2020 is an oratorical competition organised by Methodist Girls’ School (MGS) in collaboration with Ministry of Education (MOE) Gifted Education Branch. It is an online competition which strives to encourage a passion of public speaking among students in Singapore. Participants attended Zoom mentoring sessions by MGS and submitted a recorded video of their speeches entitled,” A Different Way of schooling after Covid-19”. On 27 August 2020, their videos were screened in front of a panel of distinguished judges and a live Zoom audience. Both finalists presented enthusiastic yet dynamic speeches on how their schooling experiences differed after Covid-19, which wowed the judges. Congratulations to Yin Kay and Cheng Wei! |

3rd Text Recital Competition for Primary and Secondary Schools |

This competition is jointly organised by the Committee to Promote Chinese Language Learning, Anderson Primary School and Chinese Teachers Literary Recital Society. The main objective of this competition is to raise the student’s level of Chinese Language reading proficiency, to ignite our pupils’ love for learning Chinese language and deepen their understanding of the texts in their textbooks through text recitals. More than 800 students from about 115 schools took part in the 3rd Text Recital Competition for primary and secondary schools this year. |

The 11th “Global Village” Children & Youths Bilingual Speech Competition, organized by Goodtalk Culture Communication Co. Ltd, sponsored by Goodtalk Youths & Children Cultural Communication Center and supervised by China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE). The objective of the competition is promoting the understanding and the appreciation of the language and culture between the student participants from Singapore and China. In addition, the competition is also an effort to support the Speak Mandarin Campaign of Singapore. |
